Product Introduction:
Octyl salicylate, or 2-ethylhexyl salicylate, is an organic compound used as an ingredient in sunscreens and cosmetics to absorb UVB (ultraviolet) rays from the sun. It is an ester formed by the condensation of asalicylic acid with 2-ethylhexanol. It is a colorless oily liquid with a slight floral odor.
The salicylate portion of the molecule absorbs ultraviolet light, protecting skin from the harmful effects of exposure to sunlight. The ethylhexanol portion is a fatty alcohol, adding emollient and oil-like (water resistant) properties.
Product Functions:
This product can be used to made appropriate finishing sunscreen (cream, emulsion), and other skin care cosmetics with dosage (3% ~ 5%), it can effectively absorb the ultraviolet ray in sunshine, prevent the skin bask in red, black, sunburn. Also it can also be used as a light dermatitis of medicine treatment. As well as add into the shampoo to prevent fade. In industry it can be used as a plastic stabilizer and ultraviolet absorbent, printing ink, etc.
