Product Introduction:
Guanidine hydrochloride is a strong organic base existing primarily as guanidium ions at physiological pH. It is found in the urine as a normal product of protein metabolism. It is also used in laboratory research as a protein denaturant. It is also used in the treatment of myasthenia and as a fluorescent probe in HPLC.
Guanidine hydrochloride can break the hydrogen bond in protein structure, which increases the solubility of non-polar molecules including amino acid side chains, and reduces hydrophobic interaction. Urea can also penetrate into protein molecules and influence the dense accumulation of protein molecules. In addition, detergents, organic solvents, heavy metals, heat, mechanical force, freezing, ultrasound, high pressure, radiation and so on can cause denaturation of proteins. These denaturations do not destroy the covalent bonds of proteins, but only involve the destruction of secondary bonds such as hydrogen bonds, salt bonds, hydrophobic interactions and van der Waals interactions. Some denatured proteins can automatically return to their natural state when the denaturing factors are removed. This phenomenon is called renaturation, which is refolding in the study of protein folding.
Product Functions:
1. Guanidine hydrochloride has a high solubility in water. It absorbs rapidly after oral administration. Its blood concentration is the highest in 3 hours and its effective blood concentration can be maintained for 12 hours.
2. Guanidine hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum bacteriostat with bactericidal effect at high concentration.
3. Guanidine hydrochloride is used to synthesize folic acid. It can also be used as an antistatic agent for synthetic fibers.
Product Applications:
1. Guanidine hydrochloride is mainly used as an intermediate of drugs and an important raw material for the manufacture of sulfadiazine, sulfamethazine, sulfamethazine and folic acid.
2. Guanidine hydrochloride used in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical industry.
3. Guanidine hydrochloride can be used as intermediates in medicine, pesticides, dyes and other organic synthesis. It can also be used as an antistatic agent for synthetic fibers.
4. Guanidine hydrochloride can be used for the determination of gold, iridium, osmium, platinum and ruthenium. Molecular biological protein denaturation.
